The Arizona Health Information Management Association (AzHIMA), formally known as HIMA of AZ is an affiliate of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). AHIMA is the professional organization representing over 40,000 specially educated health information management professionals who work throughout the healthcare industry. AzHIMA has over 600 members involved in a variety of healthcare aspects. Our common goals are to provide quality information while providing patient confidentiality. We are responsible for establishing and maintaining policies to meet the mandated standards set forth by the government and other regulatory and accrediting organizations.

As the state membership organization of health information management professionals, the Arizona Health Information Management Association (AzHIMA) fosters the professional development of its members through continuing education opportunities, by promoting quality clinical data management, and, by acting as an advocate on issues which will affect the management of health information.
