President	President-elect assumes this position year 2
Past-President	President assumes this position year 3
President-elect*	elected by the membership - 3 year term:  year 1=Pres-Elect, year 2=Pres, year 3=Past-Pres
Delegate 1^st year*	elected by the membership - 2 year term:  year 1=Delegate1^st, year 2=Delegate 2^nd
Delegate 2^nd year	Delegate 1^st year assumes this position year 2
Alternate delegate	runner-up for 1st year delegate - 1 year term
Director 1^st year*	elected by the membership - 2 year term:  year 1=Director 1^st, year 2=Director 2^nd
Director 2^nd year	Director 1^st year assumes this position year 2
Treasurer-elect	elected by the membership - 2 year term:  year 1=Treasurer-elect, year 2=Treasurer
Treasurer	Treasurer-elect assumes this position year 2
Secretary-elect*	elected by the membership - 2 year term: year 1=Secretary-elect, year 2=Secretary
Secretary	Secretary-elect assumes this position year 2

* Positions on the annual ballot for the AzHIMA Board of Directors election.

BOD Expectations:

· Be a current AHIMA member in good standing

· Elect Arizona as primary AHIMA Component State Association (CSA)

· Attend BOD meetings: 

o Meetings are generally 9 times a year (no meeting in June, October, or December)

o 2^nd Saturday of the month

o 9am-12pm, may be extended

o location determined by the incoming President

o First BOD meeting, usually in July, is an all-day “transition” meeting of the incoming and outgoing board members

· Monthly time expectations:

o Varies by position, but approximately 10 hr/month

§ Three hours for the BOD meeting, travel time, BOD follow-up items, emails, regular visits to the AHIMA, State Leaders COP, and AZ COP websites.

· Have employer support

· Have computer and email access

· Able to travel when requested

o Association travel may also require sharing accommodations

o Write an article(s), as requested, for OFF THE RECORD newsletter when attending events on official association business
